Masala Chai – A Trendy Drink for a Little Everyday Wellness Trip
This is how Indians drink chai, a tea and also a national drink. Chai describes the traditional way tea is prepared in India. The classic recipe adds spices like cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, fennel, and anise to black tea. The recipe originally comes from Ayurvedic health teachings, where these
spices have their firm place.
For centuries, Indians have valued the beneficial effects of Chai tea on body and mind. From an Ayurvedic perspective, it's a clear case: in traditional health teachings, every medicinal plant affects both the body and soul of a person.
Cardamom aids digestion, soothes the stomach, and helps with colds. According to Indian health teachings, the spice is also supposed to provide new energy and increase zest for life.
Ginger is considered a panacea in Ayurvedic medicine. It is antispasmodic, stimulates appetite, aids digestion, and also strengthens the immune system.
No wonder Indians drink their chai tea at every opportunity. The tea is available almost everywhere - on trains, at bus stations, and of course in markets. It's no surprise that chai has become a trendy drink here. Thanks to the beneficial effects of tea and spices, every cup of chai tea becomes a little wellness trip in everyday life.
